Ramon A. Lafee

VP, Corporate Development

Ramon leads corporate development for Emergent™ Technology and is responsible for all aspects of the worldwide corporate structure of the company. For Responsible Gold™ he leads the structuring of gold refinement to ensure compliance with different international regulatory frameworks. In addition he is building international partnerships to implement the Responsible Gold™ technology solution while advising on strategic M&A and financing transactions.

 Before joining Responsible Gold, Ramon spent more than 12 years in the power sector in South and Central America and the Caribbean, first working with AES and, since 2007, with AEI, where he was a vice president and served as regional general counsel for Central America and the Caribbean where he handled more than $855 million in transactions in multiple countries. He has extensive experience in cross-border transactions, M&A, financing, asset management and business development.  

 Previously, Ramon lived and worked in several countries in Latin America. He earned a law degree from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Venezuela, a master of laws degree from Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina and a masters of business administration from the Adolfo Ibañez School of Management in Miami, Florida and Deusto Business School in Bilbao, Spain.
