Abhishek is an expert in powering payments for major merchants and has a deep background in payments and fraud prevention engineering, along with big data and analytics for leading digital organizations. He joined Emergent™ in 2016 from Western Union and has spent years leading teams in building cutting edge payments platforms

As Chief Technology Officer, he is leading the engineering and strategy for Emergent™ Payments and G-Coin™ which includes fraud risk in emerging markets in Latin America, SE Asia, India, Japan, China, Africa, Europe and North America. He is a key leader in the organization in leading discussions with regulatory bodies and central banks across the world.

Abhishek joined Western Union in 2012 where he was a senior director of payments, risk and big data engineering for online and mobile platforms. He led a global team overseeing cutting edge technology used in more than 200 countries and complex fraud risk platforms managing billions in annual digital volume out of San Francisco. He was responsible for building industry leading payment platforms that integrated directly with aggregators, payment gateways, banks, debit networks, schemes and local clearing switches in more than 100 countries.

A financial and technology risk expert, Abhishek also spent more than 8 years at Symantec as head of engineering for Payments and Risk, Online Fulfillment, Order Management, Business Intelligence, Integration and Recurring Billing Systems.

Abhishek holds two patents, one for a Transaction Analyzer using Graph-Oriented Data Structures. The second is for a Methods For Homogenizing Online Flows And Backend Processes. He strongly believes in democratization of information for the fintech community and offering local, optimized payments to help consumers around the world.
